The carbine boot replaced the carbine socket due to the potential injuries or death caused by the latter when a rider was thrown from his mount. Our 1885 pattern carbine boot catches every detail, from the thickness of the harness leather down to the swell that is depressed in the front to allow for the projection of the rear sight.
